GenEd Changes--Keep in Mind the Following

The recent changes to GenEd's will not affect YOUR requirements - your requirements will be the same as they were at the time you entered UMass. However, you must remember that the person sitting next to you in that PS or SBU GenEd course (for example) - or down the hall from you in your residence hall -  may have different requirements from you, depending on their semester of entry, and whether they were admitted as freshmen or transfers. Be sure to check out the GenEd website and see what specific guidelines you fall under, and remember that your ARR will always reflect the requirements for YOU, given your entry date/status and your declared major. If you have questions, contact your advisor!

Got Questions?

You may be a new student, who has just come - or hasn't yet come - to New Student Orientation.
You may be a returning student, who was here last spring, or perhaps not for a few semesters.

Regardless of who you are, you'll have questions.
Don't hesitate to ask them!
(as they say, the only silly questions are the ones that are never asked)

The Undergraduate Advising Office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  You can find us here or call 413-545-2191 to ask a quick question or to set up an appointment.

Please note that while New Student Orientation is running (through July 23rd), we are extremely busy on Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays--so for a few more weeks, you might be setting up a appointment for Wednesdays.
