Jessica Jackely (Co-founder of Kiva.org and Founder/CEO of ProFounder) majored in philosophy and art at UMass Amherst . . . and now she’s one of the world's leading female entrepreneurs. Jackely launched KIVA, a non-profit with a mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva has created a global community of people connected through lending; hundreds of millions of dollars have been loaned through partnerships around the world. Domestic Exchange Information Sessions for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Exchanges. Spend a semester or year at another college or university in the U.S., through the National Student Exchange (nse.org) or University of Massachusetts Exchange Schools. Students MUST attend an information session to apply (and will receive applications and all the information necessary to apply).
